Initial Extended Feed Scan (Channels)

The number of videos included in the feed when your podcast app requests it for the first time. It is equally split among the selected video types at the time of subscription creation.

For example, if regular videos, live streams, and shorts are selected, each type will receive up to one-third of the videos in the extended scan, picked from the newest videos of each type.

In a different scenario, if you selected only live videos, all videos will come from live streams.

The extended scan will remain available until the next feed update, as defined by the 'Feed update frequency' setting, following the initial request.

The quantity of videos may vary slightly because the first scan merges with the first incremental update.

Generating feeds with many videos may take time.

Extended Feed Scan (Playlists)

The number of videos included in the feed when your podcast app requests it for the first time.

The extended scan will remain available until the next feed update, as defined by the 'Feed update frequency' setting, following the initial request.

The included videos are the top ones from the playlist as arranged by the playlist owner on YouTube.

Generating feeds with many videos may take time.

Incremental Feed

Channels: Up to the 15 most recent videos are included. If the subscription includes only live streams, only live streams among those 15 are used.

Playlists: Includes the top 15 videos from the playlist page on YouTube, regardless of age.

Video Type Filter

Filters allow you to include or exclude regular videos, premieres, live streams, and shorts from your feed.
